I have been married for 38 years and I never dreamed in my wildest dreams that dh would sew/quilt.
He is so excited to put the binding on today. but of course the golf game with the guys comes first. I can just see him coming in the door and picking up his quilt and disappearing for a while... AGAIN !! Here is a pic of how he quilted it.. he didn'want to do sitd because he would be out of the ditch more then in it.. lol he chose to do diagonal thru the sq.. I showed him alot of quilts on this site and he went with this for his first time.. stay tune for binding and the finalee ! his quilt is bunched up on a chair.. sssshhhh don't tell him that I didn't lay it out nice for a picture !! Only down side is you may now have to have a stash in your stash :) |
the binding is on 3 corners... i showed him once and he took it from there.. i am getting excited !

ok i had to help pin on binding beause its not very wide due to the fact that he has a small outer border.. i explained to him that if the border was wider then the binding could be a bit wider..
he said he has big hands and that is some little stuff ! well,, it's time to see what he really has because the border is being sewn on now.. gonna take a while I think so again,,, stay tuned ! |

WOW!!!! This has been fun watching this project, start to finish. I, too think he did a great job.
Now he'll have to have his own screen name on the board, his own stash, etc, etc, etc. Hope he'll still have time to keep all your machines running! |
Fabulous job! My husband's computer is next to mine, I showed him the quilt and he said...oh you mean there's hope for me? He does help me pick out fabric, although I think it's his way of keeping an eye on the charge card, LOL.

Glad to hear that DH is quilting! My DH says he is going to take it up when he retires so we will be sewing side by side! :-D

Awwwww. That is just precious that he does that! Ok I need to use words that aren't so syrupy. That is so cool man, that he does that. Dude, your quilt rocks!!!!! (But I still think it's precious).

Your DH has done an awesome job! I love his quilt. What now for the new quilter? Does he have plans of making another?
