I believe the name of the museum is Schloss Eringerfeld.

Yes, the sashing and everything is made of tiny squares.

The radiant star is my favorite! Awesome talent. Something to aspire to:)

sewwhat85 11-29-2010 06:46 PM

Maybe we should all switch to this scale quilt and stick it to the fabric companies for raising the prices LOL

buddy'smom 11-29-2010 06:51 PM

WOW, he does amazing work.

isnthatodd 11-29-2010 06:57 PM

Was he featured in a magazine at one time? I read an article that I think I remember correctly about making quilts with small squares (but maybe not as small as your hubby's).

Sheila Elaine 11-29-2010 06:58 PM

Magnificent is all I can say. It would be great to have a video of each quilt being assembled & quilted. Give him congrats from NE Alabama.

Celeste 11-29-2010 06:58 PM

These are incredible! How did he decide to work with such small pieces?!?

ptquilts 11-29-2010 07:06 PM

he hates to throw away scraps. Plus it was a challenge. I have been trying to post more pics but still get an error message.

These will be in chronological order so I can keep track of which ones I have posted. They are all about 3 feet square.

That man has patience. Congrats to him. I hope you guys made a mint on the ones you sold.

gaby4v 11-29-2010 11:17 PM

WOW!!! That is amazing and crazy at the same time!!

jitkaau 11-29-2010 11:57 PM

The lady who wrote "The Railway Children" used to do tiny hexagon quilts like these. She did them by hand. Your DH might be interested to have a look at them. I also like his use of positive and negative space in the tonal arrangement of his quilts. Nicely done, thanks for sharing.

Gramof6 11-30-2010 12:47 AM

I am just stunned by these gorgeous pieces of art! Your DH is extremely talented. How amazing! I love all 3 of course. It is so neat that you both enjoy this hobby. Thank You for sharing.

Holy Cow! They are incredible! Does he use batting in them? With all those seams on the back I'd think you wouldn't need it.

no batting.

I am trying to upload more pics but keep getting the error message, they are not very big, 100KB or so. Tried in Firefox and IE, no luck.

Stunning  My machine would eat the fabric and sew my fingers if I tried something that small. That man must have the patience of a saint ... I would run screaming after just a few.
