this sounds pathetic but i am kinda scared to rip out the seams...afraid i may mess it up worse

No, dont rip it apart Henry, just take a ruler and your rotary cutter, even if you have to take off half an inch in some places, just take some off the outer edge and straighten it out, and put a border around it, it will look great.

Thats what happened to me the first time i tried to sew patches in straight rows. No matter how hard you try, the size always gets a little distortion. It will work out fine Henry, just next time, instead of sewing in rows, sew your patches into 9 or 12 patch blocks, square each big block off, then sew the big blocks together in rows. I didnt know that til i saw it on a tv show. But this will work out fine, just put a pretty border on it, looks beautiful.
