Someone asked member to post pics of diaper bags we have made. I started this one around New Years, but it got back-burned for more urgent projects. Now the baby is here, so needed to finish.

The mom picked jungle animals for her nursery. I couldn't find quilted fabric I liked, so quilted my own. Used a messenger bag pattern, and added many pockets. Was quite time consuming, but I finally finished. Also made a tummy time blanket, a changing pad and some burp cloths. Added a book, diaper ointment, diaper wipes, and a toy. Now to get it delivered! Maybe this weekend if we don't get another huge storm like they are predicting.

TFL, enjoy and have a great weekend. I will be sewing, not watching football!

My 15 y/o sewing student helped piece the blanket, used minky for the backing. It's washed out in the pics, really light yellow.

That is fabulous! I love all the pockets, and the modern style.

What is PLU fabric?

I'm going to try to make a diaper bag this weekend for my DD.

PLU is a manufacturer's abbreviation for a waterproof type of fabric. (Can't remember what is stands for...senior moment!) It is used for diaper covers, raincoats, lunch bags, things like that. It comes in pastels, white and some prints. Very pricey, at least $13. per yard. Luckily, you don't need much to make small items.

Edit: It's PUL, not PLU. Poly Urethane Laminate. I was at the fabric shop and looked at the label. $9.95-12.95/ yd. Field's Fabrics is my local source and they have a website.
