sandpat 10-05-2008 03:01 PM

OOOOHHHHH, its lovely...just add those little pesky corner triangles and ta-da!!

Barb M 10-05-2008 03:10 PM

Oh i see what your asking lol, i think you're actually asking a technical question? Are you wondering what those corner tags are and why they are sticking out? Thats just the extra seam allowance from your other triangles. Ok, make your corner triangles, if you don't know what size to make them, then just make them extra big, and you can trim after. Lay the gold edge against the black edge and do your seam, them press it forward, then if the triangle is too big, you just square it up and trim it, does that make sense? If you want to trim those gold tags ahead of time, lay your ruler right on the edge of the black sashing, and trim.

Weste, check back at your pattern you should have cut 2 squares to be cut on the angle to get the right size for your corner pieces, you missed one step while putting it all together your first row should consist of 3 triangles and one block, that would be you first row, It's kind of a funny looking row but it'll work out. Hope this help! Also you can just square it up and finish with funky corners that's cool too! And not to forgot your quilt in stunning no matter how you finish it! :D

mrsj82 10-05-2008 04:38 PM

Looks like you just need some triangle corners. I'll give you my address and you can ship it on over to me.

mary quite contrary 10-05-2008 05:08 PM

I think you need to make quarter square triangles so you don't end up with bias edges out.

bluebird 10-05-2008 07:00 PM

This is just one of those little oops  Beautiful colors, pattern and job.

tlrnhi 10-05-2008 07:21 PM

If you'd like, you can just send it to me and I'll finish it up for you. :) :)

what a gorgeous quilt

ceannastahr 10-08-2008 06:57 PM

its a beauitful quilt I forgot the corners on my first on point realized it after I took the pic so went back and put them on.

mary quite contrary 10-09-2008 04:44 AM

So do we get to see completed pictures? I'm like a little kid at Christmas. LOL

weste 10-09-2008 05:05 AM

It's still on my design board. For some reason I don't want to fool with it right now. The corners are too small for a triangle. Something is bound to happen to make it work out. I might take it apart and make it straight instead of on point. I HATE TRIANGLES.

mary quite contrary 10-09-2008 09:10 AM

Don't take it apart. Send it to me and I will finish up your corners and send it back to you.

Mary

Your quilt is stunning! You did a great job "making it up in your head". The corner triangles will not be as little as you think they will be and they will look fabulous on your quilt. I always just cut mine really big, sew them on and then square them up--I am not a huge fan of triangles either, so this method eliminates a lot of thinking for me!!! :D

mic-pa 10-09-2008 10:33 AM

I just finished a lap quilt and left the corners off on purpose. Looks great. Marge

weste 10-09-2008 02:26 PM

Thanks for your support. I am going to try to put triangles on trhe corner. wish me luck. I post a pic if it turns out ok.

jstitch 10-09-2008 02:45 PM

The corners are not too small for a triangle..

You just need to make them a quarter square triangle instead of a half square triangle..

Let me know if you need the math on how big to cut the square..

Judy

salisaquilter 10-10-2008 06:08 AM

You need to cut the last pc of your quilt and attach. lol
You need to cut a block about 1" larger than the main block and then cut it corner to corner. This will require 2 of these blocks for 4 corners.
It should fit, but just to make sure use a scrap fabric to check it out
