A Different Kind of Irish Chain

3 Attachment(s)
I was asked to post this picture again. I posted it about two years ago. My son and his wife loved the pattern of Irish Chain and had navy blue curtains in their bedroom. They also had a jungle motif so that was a problem coming up with a design. Here is the picture of what I finally came up with. I love the way it turned out.

Wonderful work. I love the way you used the jungle animals and Irish chain together.

Love it. Sounds like it goes very well with their room.

I missed it the first time. Love it, such an original idea for a traditional pattern. I have a all blue and white Irish chain that I am trying to figure out what to do with the "blank" squares. Since it is already put together I was thinking either applique or embroidery in a Celtic design.

Nice quilt.

Very unusual but I like it. Love Irish Chain quilts. The quilting is very pretty too.

Very pretty, and I love your "jungle" fabrics in the Irish Chain quilt.

jeaninmaine 07-04-2013 08:15 AM

I really like it with the print fabric in the middle so you don't have that big blank space.

matraina 07-04-2013 08:34 AM

And I love it, too.

What a great idea! I love Irish Chains, but had never thought to use the chains as frames - thank for posting, as I missed it the first time.

We made one in green and white at our guild and embroidered a four leaf clover in the middle of the white space. Turned out real well so I am sure yours will be great also.

I love the jungle animals theme! Nice job!

mpeters1200 07-04-2013 11:59 AM

Irish Chain on my bucket list. It certainly appeals more to me with a focus block in the center like that. I love African animals and prints and I think I've just amended my bucket list! Wonderful job!

Micki922 07-04-2013 12:03 PM

I think it's striking! I bet they love it.

Judith1005 07-04-2013 12:28 PM

Nice job. I love how you personalized it. It is very pretty. I love how different it is to traditional animal print you see on the store shelves.

Twinkie you do great work!

GeeGee 07-04-2013 09:21 PM

Your quilt is lovely and I have made one where I included a picture square in the alternative block and found it just as easy as the old way of cutting a white square. Thanks for sharing.

AlaskaAlice 07-04-2013 11:08 PM

Great quilt!

twinkie 07-05-2013 01:10 AM

Thank you my friend. Hope you are feeling somewhat better.

And thank you, Grandma Peg.
