Yes, pun intended. :-)

Here are four pictures of a little group that Timeless Treasures is showing on their website (must be new).

Any ideas for how you would use these?

In a quilt made for a knitter, as a lap quilt, a yarn bag, a needle holder, etc.

Kitsapquilter 11-17-2010 05:05 AM

Oh, these would make a wonderful big tote bag to carry one's yarn and project in the making. I just may have to have some of this for myself!!!

cjomomma 11-17-2010 05:12 AM

No they don't quilt they knit apparently!! LOL!! I like them.

I made a basket liner and knitting needle holder for my late Mother-in-Law out of some fabric that had chickens knitting on it! She adored it and was always pointing it out to ANYONE ... it gave her much pleasure ... and now I have it back with me - including all the memories and love she lavished on it :) Will post a pic if I can find one ... was for her 86th Birthday last year ... love your sheep fabric!!

yes, Mum had a lot of needles ... and I don't knit! She had only three fingers on her left hand (oops - shot one off!!) and could still knit and play the piano beautifully xx

her lovely basket originally held a beautiful native flower arrangement and she could not part with the basket afterwards ...

Very cute.

Maybe a stack and whack, other than that, don't have a clue.

gramabiese 11-17-2010 06:19 AM

Oh I agree, something for a knitter you know would be lovely and cherished, after all sheep are who give us the yarn!

Knitting rolls to hold all your knitting tools, or a yarn pod so you can take a project with you to sit at the doc's office, waiting in carpool, etc.

It is a very cute set, my knitter friends though? Go for more hip prints than cutesy prints. More to "go with" your style, other than announcing "THIS IS FOR KNITTING!" KWIM?

Really cute fabric! A knitting bag would be a big hit with it.

Thanks for sharing MotherDuck, your MIL looks like she was a wonderful person. The quilt behind her is gorgeous too. Happy Thanksgiving

OOOHHH! I like that! I would make a knitting bag out of it, quilted of course. But that would make a great quilt for a knitter.

scoobertina 11-17-2010 08:26 AM

my daughter is the knitter in the family, I would make her a great knitting tote.. ahhh.. and I think a throw for when she is knitting and watching tv...

I'll have to look this up. Our last name is Woolley. We raise sheep. This would be great for my DD. She learned to knit from her Grandma Woolley.

lilithcat 11-17-2010 09:27 AM

I love sheep! That one would be for me. An apron maybe...

The rest I would use for my DIL. She's a knitter. That would be great for a project tote and needle roll!

Carol in Colorado 11-17-2010 09:44 AM

I love ANYTHING with sheep! Very cute.

ccb2200 11-17-2010 02:29 PM

Those are cute. Have no idea as what I would make with them.

auntmag 11-17-2010 02:53 PM

This was my first thought.

If only the sheep were quilting though. Then I would have to have it.

As a side note, I'm always on the lookout for the folksy sheep figurines that are draped with a quilt over their back.

wolfkitty 11-17-2010 08:31 PM

I would use it for a quilt, as I know lots of people that knit and quilt, and so they would appreciate a quilt of it.. There are the accompanying blender fabrics. I think it would make a neat quilt. I like sheep and I crochet, so I would love a quilt of this.

Yes she was a very special lady - had five sons! I'm married to the oldest ... tks for comment on quilt in the background - my Mum made it for me when I turned 40 ... 10 years ago! It has 40 hearts on it - very special to me and I love to see it hanging on the wall every day!
