All my goodies are done and ready for Dogtoberfest on Saturday!!

"Love My Dog" quilt to be raffled off. Tote bags made of recycled food bags, lined with old sheets, and handles made of old belts!! All proceeds go to a pet food bank that I volunteer with

Bennett 10-20-2011 03:34 PM

Neat! I've made a few of the recycled bags for shopping, but I haven't lined them and used pieces of the bag for handles. Your way is a lot nicer! Good luck with the fundraising.

I just love all of them....of course I am a bit partial to dogs.

Crqltr 10-20-2011 04:17 PM

Cute .. The bags are cool. Sweet of you to donate them, it is a worthy cause. Our school band has a concert at Christmas and the admission is a pet food of any kind, it goes to the animal shelter.

Bless you!

Nice work. Especially love the "repurposed" bags. Are all the big bags vinyl now, or just some of them? Don't have dogs, will have to check with DD who has 2 Great Danes.

rexie 10-20-2011 06:42 PM

Those are so neat. I have a big box of Pedigree bandanas that I plan on making something for the local shelter.

cashmommy11 10-20-2011 07:30 PM

There are a few of them that still use paper but most seem to be going with the recycled plastic bags. I do a monthly trip around the Charlotte area picking up bags and other items that are donated to our group. I get all kinds of bags. Dog and cat food, horse, chicken, goat, cow and everything in between feed!

Thanks everybody for you kind comments. We are hoping these things are a hit. This is the first time we have done Dogtoberfest. We are hoping to get more folks involve with helping. Most of our clients barely have enough to feed themselves. We the food that we are able to distribute folks are able to keep their pets.
