beachlady 12-07-2009 09:13 AM

You do beautiful work! Do you make clothes for "people" too?

RedGarnet222 12-07-2009 09:25 AM

Wow! You make nice doll clothing. What kind of doll are these for? i hope you made lots of money for them. These are surely much nicer than you could find in a store.

3incollege 12-07-2009 09:37 AM

very pretty, you must have patience . What are you going to do with them?

Those are great! When my niece got her American Girl doll I sewed a lot for her. Those clothes you buy from them are very expensive and my sister appreciated my help. We had a program where I used to work where the Salv. Army would drop off a bunch of new dolls and the employees would take a doll and dress it for their toy drive. It was fun and we all enjoyed it. Some would make clothes and some would take theirs to a toy store and buy a dress.

Thay are beautiful!

marlet 12-07-2009 10:07 AM

Absolutely adorable. I really don't have the patience to fiddle with such tiny clothes pattern pieces, especially after my daughter got out of the doll stage. Never made any again. HeeHee!

RedGarnet222 12-07-2009 10:08 AM

Just curious... Where is the quilt picture? LOL!

Boston1954 12-07-2009 10:09 AM

Wow!! I love the one that is directly over the green coat. I have a doll that will be 50yrs this Christmas. Wish I could get her something new.

sewnsewer2 12-07-2009 05:46 PM

OMG how cute!

Fritzy 12-07-2009 06:32 PM

I couldn't put the quilt picture with the doll clothes but forgot to delete that part. I put it by itself under My Friend's quilt. It should be on the board.

Fritzy 12-07-2009 06:36 PM

Once in a while I'll make people clothes but mostly it's kid's things I do like bibs, fun bags, aprons etc. I think I'm hung up on things like that & quilts.

Fritzy 12-07-2009 06:41 PM

The doll I made these last five outfits for were a You & Me 15" doll that the lady was going to give to her granddaughter. The other 16 outfits were for a 20" Darla doll that was going to be given to a granddaughter also. I have a hard time figuring out what to charge for them so I know I am pretty cheap. This last lady paid me way more than I ever expected but she loved them & said, "and they weren't made in China!" so that made me feel pretty good.

Esqmommy 12-07-2009 06:44 PM

Wow, you do fabulous work! I will have to search for the quilt!

Fritzy 12-07-2009 07:05 PM

marlet, I have four boys, one grandson, one husband & one male dog ( need I say more!) so I guess making doll clothes is my outlet for the little girl in me. I really enjoy making them but it takes longer to pick out a pattern & the fabric than to sew them. I keep telling myself that they are only doll clothes but it just doesn't sink in. When I'm sewing them my mind starts to wander about what little doo dads I can put on them to brighten them up & it just keeps going & going from there.

Fritzy 12-07-2009 07:09 PM

RedGarnet, the quilt should show up under pictures page 1. Hope this helps.

Fritzy: Your doll clothes are absolutely darling. Wow, some little girls are going to be very happy receiving those for Christmas. Good job.

I am going to start making doll clothes for our two DGDs. Their mom suggested nightgowns with matching doll nightgowns. Since this is a first in decades and I am under a time crunch for the holidays, I bought three pretty gowns. One will become two doll nightgowns this week :-) I hope I don't break my arm patting myself on the back for using retail.

Your dolls clothes are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!!
