I would also use it as a panel and put nice borders around it using colors to coordinate.

So Beautiful!!!! I would atleast take and cut some large blocks that have the whole Print then cut the rest up smaller blocks or did you see the block on this site called 'Fractured' it was cool! 8-)

it is awesome fabric. I would either use it on the back or make sure it was cut into big blocks.

Borders! There is a zig zag of rose, green, and blue in the panel. You could do a zig zag border with those colors. Or, under the pharoh there is a frieze that has diamonds or squares on point. A border like that using the rose, green, and blue for the squares and one of the earth colors for the background would be nice. Pick out another color from the fabric for thinner borders. Or use one color for the squares on the earth color and thinner borders out of the other two colors.

I'd save some for a border but I'd fussy cut some to put in a block to display the beautiful design with a rich purple background. It would really make it pop with purple and black. I think I'd use mostly black and add colors like the purple and the turquoise in like a jewel pattern.

you could cut long strips and make a quilt with those and solid or blocks in between them.

The fabric is beautiful. It is obviously directional so be careful with borders. It would only look good as a border if it was all going in the same direction so that means your horizontal borders need to be cut WOF and your vertical borders need to be cut LOF. This would look stunning, especially in an Egyptian themed quilt. Another option is to fussy cut it and use it as alternate solid 12" finished size blocks going between pieced blocks in coordinating fabric. I saw a quilt at the Bennington quiltfest last year. It was a braid quilt with alternating large panels of a fabric she couldn't bear to cut. It was stunning.

I think there is a pattern or book out there "Just cant cut it" or something like that. It really is beautiful!

It looks like you have about a 20" repeat vertically and more horizontally. I'd cut some rectangles with the Sphinx in the center . Them measure the size of that and make some blocks to fill in around the rectangles. Any simple pattern would do, just strong colors with some of the tan, too. Then use the remaining Egyptian fabric for the wide border after the dark narrow border. It's a beautiful fabric.
