I absolutely love this..what an amazing way to use those pillow cases - and such a lovely tribute to those ladies ! i remember sitting in the evening watching my Mom embroider our pillow cases - every one we had was embroidered - and it's only now looking back that i realize just how special that was. i have several tucked away in my cedar chest...which i am now tempted to use thanks to your clever idea. Well done !!!!!

What a wonderful labor of love. You did a superb job. When I was a little girl, my grandmother cross stitched my name on a sheet set for me. These many years later, the sheets were falling apart and I cut out the part with my name and made a pillow. I use it every day in my favorite chair. You made a lovely heirloom, congratulations!
How wonderful. If your GD doesn't want may be it could be placed in a quilt museum just for the story, and the amount of years the quilt covers. Not to mention the workmanship.

What a great idea for pillow cases. I have a lot of cases that my mother and grandmother embroidered, and I never use them, what a great use for them, rather than sitting in the linen closet. Thanks for sharing.
