what a pretty quilt... I would do a rose color ....:-o

SaraSewing 05-05-2009 10:45 AM

Hey, I have a name: Mine! I love pink and greens together. It's a nice job.

Jim's Gem 05-05-2009 10:47 AM

Looks very pretty. Do you have any of the rose pink color that's in the flowers? Even if you just did a narrow in a pink and maybe came back with a wider in the floral and bind with green. Many times it is what I have enough of that I use for my borders.

Shemjo 05-05-2009 10:57 AM

Very pretty. I like Gayle's suggestion for bordering and binding!

Tippy 05-05-2009 11:23 AM

I like a narrow cream colored band, then either the pink or green ...which ever you can match better.

Debbie1 05-05-2009 11:31 AM

I also like Gayle's suggestion. Pretty quilt by the way!

SulaBug 05-05-2009 11:33 AM

What a beautiful quilt for your SIL. Maybe you could call it,
her Flower Garden? :D I would trim it first in a narrow
green band, with a cream then a rose color. Whatever
you choose will be pretty. What is the name of your block?
I love it!!
:D :D :D :D

quiltnut4ever 05-05-2009 11:58 AM

lol Thanks!

quiltnut4ever 05-05-2009 11:59 AM

yeah that does sound nice, i'll play and see what I have. I do have the yellow and pink larger print but I'm wondering if its too much and create a busy look?

quiltnut4ever 05-05-2009 12:01 PM

Sulabug this actually was a mystery quilt a while back. I took the day off today due to my MS so I decided to get off my butt and do something instead of sulking. Glad you liked it!

Ninnie 05-05-2009 12:38 PM

Rose, definitely rose!

grandmasue 05-05-2009 12:48 PM

You might want to try a narrow cream or pink border and then try the floral. Anything you decide, I am sure she will be thrilled.

littlehud 05-05-2009 01:40 PM

I think rose would be pretty. I absolutely love your fabric. Wonderful quilt.

quiltnut4ever 05-05-2009 03:45 PM

I agree with all, rose it is!

molly4503 05-05-2009 04:56 PM

This quilt is gorgeous! From a newbies perspective I would do green, cream and then rose. I think I would make them gradually wider as I went.

The designis great,it actually reminds me of wrapped hard candies or something.... lol, ,may sound weird, but it does.

Very nice job, I am sure the recipient will love it!

pocoellie 05-06-2009 04:35 AM

Very nice!!! Absolutely love the fabric.

sewjoyce 05-06-2009 04:45 AM

Wow -- that's really beautiful!!

shaverg 05-06-2009 05:53 AM

Maybe a small band of the rose or cream and comeback with a darker green.

Justquilting 05-06-2009 06:35 AM

great quilt.
display your quilt with borders in a mirror if you can. Or take pictures and view the different colors. you'll be amazed on how it looks. And then make your choice. I hope this helps.

RedGarnet222 05-06-2009 07:16 AM

I like your choice on the border quilt nut. I am looking forward to seeing it finished up. Nice work for a mystery quilt.

Sharon M 05-06-2009 07:17 AM

Very pretty! Lucky SIL she will be thrilled come Christmas :D

sewnsewer2 05-06-2009 07:57 AM

Very pretty! How about a thin rose border and a wider cream like the flower background color?

*QuilterWannabee* 07-02-2009 06:17 PM

Oh, so pretty, she'll be thrilled. I like Jim's Gem's idea.

pocoellie 07-02-2009 07:23 PM

Very pretty!! Your sis-in-law will absolutely love it.

Mousie 07-02-2009 07:30 PM

very pretty...do you hear an echo?
She is going to love it. It has roses, beautiful blocks, will have a great border, bc you'll do well, and given by a great SIL! that's a great gift

SharonC 07-02-2009 08:12 PM

It's really pretty and I'm sure whatever you decide will be just wonderful. It's so nice to get opinions and see what other ideas are out there.

Marcia 07-03-2009 03:43 AM

Yes, I think putting a cream border on it would really enhance the green, then bind it in rose, like everyone else is saying. Very, very pretty!

Quiltnut I love your quilt. What pattern is it?

I think a rose border would look great. And you could add maybe a flange of the taupe/tan. Good luck, can't wait to see it finished!

Flange?

Yeah, you take a one inch strip of fabric, fold it in half and place it between the the top and the border (positioned the same way you would the binding). When you open up the seam there is a quarter inch of fabric showing in a 3-D effect. Can be quite stunning.
