Doodle Book

3 Attachment(s)
I whipped up a "Doodle Book" as I like to call them today for my local quilt groups Dirty Santa gift exchange. I've made several of these (Composition Notebook Covers) and they're really fun, fast and easy! The pattern is IJ882 by Indygo Junction.

I used lefter batting and scrap strips of some batiks, did a little couching, some applique and decorative stitching.

What a neat idea! I have a doodle book, I use for my crazy quilting, sketches of flowers, birds, trees and different stitches I want to try. You know I will be making one of these for it. Thank you for the idea!

Awesome work!!!!

Thanks! Hopefully one of the quilters will enjoy it. I'm not much on batiks, but it seems like everyone else in my local group is nuts about them.

Wow, that's really great looking. Did you know that WalMart carries quad ruled composition books? (with grids rather than lines) these are what I use for sketching blocks. Can't draw, so the grid keeps me in line. sort of...

You add a whole new line to quilting....these are awesome; a modern, artistic quilt. I love batiks and colorful materials. I'm a fan!!

that is really gorgeous

Thank you! Yes my husband uses the grid composition books, he doodles quite a bit... but I'm thinking he wouldn't care for one of these covers. LOL His is embossed leather :)

I make similar to cover diaries for presents. They are always very popular as sellable items at fairs.

Even though you say you aren't big on batiks... you certainly made beautiful "doodle" books. Looks like you had lots of fun too.

Gorgeous. I love your fabric choices.I have many composition books covered. They are so handy. Have you discovered the quadrilled composition book.
