So beautiful! I love that you do that for your mother! I am sure it benefits everyone who passes through her door!

That is a clever idea. I may have to do something like that as, except for a T-shirt quilt for grandson this spring, I am not making any more big quilts unless someone needs one. They are just getting to cumbersome to finish as I do my own FMQ. Of course, I could always have one of the talented longarmers but I really like to do all parts of making of a quilt myself, just me.

To celebrate the Irish in all of us! This will grace her door and be a real conversation starter. Your mom is lucky to have you to do these little things. It is beautiful.

I use a Command hook on the door and a hanger that has a dowel in it so I can change the mini quilts about once a month. I try to make something for holidays. Each new thing is about a 12 inch square. I don't make something much longer than that because they become to 'swingy' when the door is opened or closed. Mom taught me to sew and she loves to talk about what I make.

What a lovely hanging! Have you thought of putting attaching a magnet to the back? You know those credit card shaped magnets one gets with advertising on it? I have cut them in half horizontally and punched a small hole in each corner, then sewing the magnet to the back. This is how it looks on a small mini (4" x 6")
