Door Quilt
1 Attachment(s)
A "door quilt" for my son in London - to prevent draughts!
I was really pleased with it - he says he is! |
Gorgeous door quilt. I made one for my stairway to keep all the heat from going upstairs during the winter. It works great as I am sure yours works great too.
Love it! Like how you positioned your open cubes to tumble down the quilt! I'm going to add some to my next OBW, I think it really adds interest.
Lovely and what a unique way to use the quilt.
I have wante better draft blockage for large windows and I think this is perfect. Great idea!!!
You are so clever! Well done!
What a great idea. I really like it.
Great idea and a great quilt. I, too am impressed with the tumbling block placement. Good job.
I love the way those blocks tumble down the door. This will be quite a conversation piece.
Impressive :)
Very nice! And masculine, too. I've never heard of a door quilt. I'm reminded of how they used portieres to prevent drafts back in the old days.
Nice, I never thought of that; making a quilt for a drafty door. Gorgeous and what a clever usage.
Beautiful, great idea, would work for older windows. Especially would be very useful for people living in really cold states and countries. Love the tumbling cubes.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Love this idea! Sometimes I just hang an extra blanket over the curtain to keep in warmth - especially during power outages. This is so much nicer, it would stay up all the time!
Beautiful solution to a common problem. It's a beauty....don't be surprised if you have to make some more:)
Gorgeous!!!

Love your door quilt. I have been making them for my mom's door window. She has a 100 year old house with an oval window and it is very drafty. She used to have a lace curtain but now that she is older and gets colder I have been making quilts for different holidays and seasons. I always put a pretty backing on so those coming up on her covered porch see something that looks like a pretty curtain. I just put a sleeve on that she can run the curtain rod through.
Clever idea. Love the pattern and colors.
Awesome! Very creative! :)
