I made this bookmark for Funky Money. It took about 5 minutes. Thanks, Kim for coming up with this! It is fun and I will be using it on some of my art quilts.

Beautiful

I almost bought one of these in Paducah but the price there was enormous. Did you find one more reasonable than $20+ ? If so, where?

Pam 04-28-2010 02:23 PM

Nope, picked it up in Paducah! I was looking for you, but did not see you. I think this is going to look fab mixed in with some Seminole patchwork.

I love the bookmark!!! :D:D:D
Ooooo I can't wait to see it with the seminole piecework!!!

You did a real nice job. I saw these at AQS in Lancaster, love the look. I was wondering about the raw edge- if you used it in the border of a quilt, or on a placemat or tablerunner, how well would it survive washing?

Pam 04-28-2010 03:14 PM

I used a light weight fusible on this, but for something like a placemat, I think you would want to use something heavier.

I was there, hit Eleanor Burns' tent, pattern barn, downtown store, Hancocks and the bubble. Fat lady, denim dress w/tiny pink flowers around the bottom, bright pink shirt, glasses and 40+ inch graying hair---how could you miss that??? Rode Miss Audrey's shuttle bus several times. Maybe I'll get one next year.

Here's a free pattern to make Double Diamond Bookmarks. They make great gifts and you can make several in one evening. It's also a good guild project. Enjoy!

All I did was fuse 2 strips of fabric together, cut on the lines, slap it on a piece of fused black, and stitch down the middle! Took me longer to decide on the fabrics than to make it.

I make this same pattern using a Lattice Folds Template (designed for scapbooking). Used it on various types of clothing and handbags. Very easy to use, lots of fun, and you get lots of questions as to how did you do that, as well as compliments. I got template from paperwishes.com and it cost $4.99. Try it... you've love it!

I never thought to look in the scrapbooking aisle, good idea!
