I was commissioned to make this quilt for a woman whose daughter is getting married. They are going to use the quilt in the ceremony. It was my first (and last!) DWR and I sure didn't ask enough for the amount of work and time involved! But it turned out nice, and she loved it.

Wow..that looks so much work. Very nice
|
That's really nice. How awesome they are using it in the ceremony!!! :D
You did a wonderful job. BTW I do make them either- I have a couple of antique DWR that I love though :) |
Beautiful! Great job!
|
Sounds like a jewish or mexican ceremony. I have seen it on tv in both.
I love your work! Man that is a ton of work there. I can't help but think with the modern colors it was fun to make. |
Beautiful quilt. Hope to make one some day.
|
Really love your quilt, the colors are some of my favorite. This pattern is something I hope to do some day.

The daughter picked the colors, kind of a southwestern theme in her bedroom. I know they are not jewish, but they may have seen something that gave them the idea.

I want to make one evenutally to replace the one that was on my bed when I was in jr high and high school and that my DH and I used (along with the Grandmother's Flower Garden one his mom gave us as a wedding gift) for the first 20-30 years or so of our marriage. They both finally fell apart from being used so much.
The Double Wedding Ring top had been given to my dad in the 1930's, I think perhaps in payment for legal work he had done. |
Lovely!
