I love your Quilts, Did you hand applique the arcs on are machine sewed them? what size of background block did you use , I'm making my DH. one here this week and I really like the way you did yours..

I used a 13" background square. I machine stitched them down with a straight stitch and my edge stitch foot. I did 5 across and 6 down.

Beautiful job. I made one a few years ago for my sister. I swear to rings I would not make another, yours is beautiful and I like the colors.

Both are very pretty. I do prefer the light one, maybe because that is what I am most used to seeing.

Boston1954, interesting idea you have there.

Oh they're beautiful! I remember you talking about this quilt in chat a few nights ago, and how you were appliquing the rings on, and i wondered how it would look...it looks fantastic! They are both so very beautiful, and i cant believe you just started them on new years. I'm thinking i need to do one in the next few months, i've never done one, but my oldest daughter is getting married this summer. I have to take a look at Patrice's tutorial, i've also seen paper-pieced patterns, and now yours, so i have a lot of deciding to do how to do it :) Very nice :)

Barb, I tried the paper pieced style and it was VERY frustraiting for me!

I'm going to have to master PP some day, but that one really put a bad taste in my mouth about PP.

This one was sooooo much easier!
