Double wedding ring

I have made 1 ring for a double wedding ring quilt and it took ages to do. How many hours would it take to do a double I wonder. Has anyone ever done this as a 'quilt as you go' project? How would you go about it?

Oh my! Just watched the Kaye Wood video, as I love Cheryl Phillips projects. This is fabulous! Yours is beautiful, too, but that is soooo much easier! Good luck in whichever you decide.

Tried this once. Never even got one block completed. Decided that pattern wasn't for me and went on to the next.

I'm working on a queen sized right now with Eleanor Burns' method from the Egg Money Quilts book. It is a cheater method and will never be as wonderful as the classic, but I would never get the classic method done. So far, it is going well and looks pretty excellent on my "design floor".

Love the look--great colors. You "really" gotta love the recipient though!

Sharon, that is very pretty! Great work & I can imagine the time it consumes!

I did all the melons first sewing the rings to them., then I sewed them top and bottom to the center block forming a full row. Then I put a melon on every other center for the whole row. If I sewed to even numbers on one side of the row on the right side, I sewed to off number blocks on the other side. This way I could sew top to bottom of a row. The rows went so fast. It was doing the rings onto the melon that took the longest. This quilt was the most time consuming quilt I have ever made. But it is gorgeous. Your colors are so pretty.
