I've done several and I used John Flynn's method. It may work for you as well.

That's the only one I havent pushed myself to do yet, It's beautiful.

I wanted to make that block but I was too intimidated. I dont think I can get it to match up. I wanted to make this for my DH as a delayed wedding gift. :)
