I finished my quilt top and now it's time to quilt it. What color thread is everyone using on their quilt? I pieced it using natural, but with these fabrics being so bright and all different, I'm not sure what color to quilt with. Do I try to match the tread that is the backing? I don't have a huge collection of color or a place to buy such bright thread. Even if I SITD I don't want the thread to stand out like a sore thumb on the back. What would you do?

Thanks, Kristina

I use a neutral for SID...I like when the quilting shows on the back, though too!!! It gives the backing a little bling

You don't have to use the same color thread on both the top and bottom, but try to use the same weight. Test on scraps first t be sure it looks ok. Mine had orange polka dots on back and the bright yellow/orange/gree/black colors on the front. I matched the back and used a yellow on the front.

The best thing about quilting is there are no rules, use what ever floats your boat.

I used white with mine but I didnt want the thread showing that much just the quilting pattern.

my first one I used natural, second one I used pink, I'll probably use my regular natural on the rest of them.
