I have never thought of putting D9P on point. It drastically changes the look of the block. Perhaps, on point added to your color choices make this a very elegant quilt. It's beautiful!

Very pretty and I like the layout of the D9P.
|
Beautiful! Love the browns and blues, and the diagonal setting is perfect!

Both quilts are absolutely fabulous. Very ingenious to put cream sashing between the D9patch which added another diamond between to the picture and separated the squares a little further. Very effective and eye catching. It'll be soooo appreciated by the recipient. Great job!! We are all impressed !

Great job and colors are great too.

You really have done a fatastic job on the D9P on point. I 've done D9P but never tried it on point. What a difference that made. I have to try that next. Yours is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!

Your quilt is just super gorgeous! Very creative placement.

Lots of blocks look more interesting "on point" and your quilt proves it best!

That is pretty, I like all the colors.

Beautiful D9P! I like it on point better than the regular way of doing it. The other quilt is great too!

Hello! Awhile back someone showed up their DP9 on point and I fell in love with it. I was at the point of putting my blocks together too but decided to change to "on point". So this quilt came together thanks to you all showing us new ways of arranging simple blocks. This was my 1st DP9 too. Hopefully the colors will come over true. Its a beige background, blues and browns blocks with solid black as the coins. I also found a backing with a black background and lots of bicycles. My friend loves to ride off road bicycles and I found a digital "Live to Ride", Ride to Live" pattern that just fit the bill. This was also the first time I chunked my corner border sections with the border going across so a lot of firsts with this quilt.
With the leftover 5" blocks, I made a simple quilt for his kitty "Highway". Quilted kitties E2E on the body of the quilt and kitties along the border. Added an "H" to the corners for her name. Would have gotten this done a while back but I blew out a disc in my lower back in February and have not been able to sit or stand for any length of time since. Have 9 more quilts to quilt up so you'll be seeing more from me in the near future. |
Lovely setting with D9P on point. Your colors are beautiful. Makes me think I need to add a D9P to the list.
Just to confirm....for the 9 patch blocks you used the blues and tans or browns in the corners , black in the middle and beige in the middle of each outer row? (Hope that makes sense). |
Beautiful...have never seen it 'on point' before. Thank you for sharing.
|
I really like it. Very well done.
|
Has anyone here made a Double D9P quilt? I recently saw a demo on it and would like to make one but would like to see pictures of some that people had made.
|
love your color choice and love how the quilt!
|
Fantastic job.
|
I had a hard time trying to see how you pieced it, not an easy project, but turned out great.
