Well I don't know if any of you remember the pictures I posted about a year ago of the first two blocks to this Dresden Heart quilt. I finally finished the top today and thought you would like to see it even if it is only the top.
I will post pictures when I am done quilting. I am taking the advice of someone who posted a suggestion at the time I posted the pictures. I am going to mirror image quilt the slices of the heart, the center heart and the outside of the whole dresden heart. Then I am going to quilt a heart in each corner of the block. I think I am going to do a free-form ribbon and hearts for the borders
Don't know when I will finish, have a baby quilt to make and finish before August, but will post when I am done.
The back is going to be done in an old Hoffman fabric I have that is 3 colors of purple pansies outlined in gold.

Didn't see the pics the first time , so I am thrilled you posted more !

Great Job

Did you use a pattern or just modify it yourself ? Dresdan and Hearts are both my favorites and you put them together

Sharon I got the pattern on the internet. I don't have my notebook with my quilt designs in the house with me but when I go out to my workroom tomorrow I will look it up and post the site here. The site had a lot of free patterns. She was very creative and had a lot of different patterns which I copied and printed but this is the first one from there that I made. I fell in love with this one.

I have not forgotten about posting the web site where I got the free pattern. Too much has been happening the last couple of days. I will try and post the site by the end of the week.

That is turning out just beautiful. I loved the blocks to start with and they are great in the quilt. Thanks for sharing.

pennyswings 07-03-2010 10:34 AM

First off I want to apologise for taking so long to get back with the information. I have been very busy lately, but I did not forget, guess that is the most important thing. 8-)

That being said, many of you had asked where I got the pattern for this quilt. The site is called FatCat Patterns. The woman's name is Sindy Rodenmayor and her site is wonderful and most of the patterns are free. She has some very original designs for applique. I like her. Here is the link to the Dresden Hearts pattern, have fun.
