Love them!!

Thanks everyone. They are already in the mail to the receivers. No I personally wouldn't use them either. I view most things I make as a picture. Checkbook covers and keychains I use but hotpads I have never kept one in almost 15 years of making them. I use to sell them to a local gift store and made about 900 of them over 12 years pieced mostly but some Dresden Kaleidoscopes and Crazy quilt ones and a few applique over those years.

IF you look up at the right hand corner you will see in the rotation my EBook on Dresden Kaleidoscopes. It was the third ebook I wrote and released here on the board in 2009. This is NOT a sales pitch just a comment to show how long I have been doing these.

Right now it is showing my Wings Blocks on my page anyway. It is under advanced search if you want to see more of my kaleidoscopes.

I also have 2 threads on here where I posted some of my Dresden Kaleidoscopes a long time ago.

More Dresden Kaleidoscopes- http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...-t18219-3.html
In this one on the second page you will see a brief explanation. I have to be careful how much I give away because of the Ebook.

They are turned right side out through the center hole. It does distort the center a bit but it all lays back down and is covered by the center flat yoyo.

Ditto! Love them!

Thanks for sharing.

I use a blade(the fabric section not a real blade) template that I cut and that makes 10 blades for this pattern. They start at 8 1/4" and finish at 7 3/4". Just my math for a size I like for a hotpad.

I send these blades out for free. Just send me your postal address. I can also send a pdf file with the blade file if anyone wants it and they can print it off and do it them selves. I just use a fine point magic marker and trace the pattern and then cut it out of thick plastic. I use template plastic that is clear. You need it to be clear so you can trace off some of the features. That way you can place the template on the next spot in the fabric and match the features to get the same fussy cut blade.

I can make other sizes. I do have one that makes 5 blades and makes a 3 1/2" or 4" DK Without looking I can't say for sure the size but around that.

I love these. The florals are an awesome choice.

I've played around with cats and mushrooms and all sorts of fabrics. They need to be busy fabrics and it is so much fun to see what you can make with this.

I don't know. I would like to do a tute on them but I wrote an ebook on them which sells here on the board and I can't use anything in the book. So it is a fine line to walk. I will have to give it some more thought. I can't remember what projects I used in the book so I need to see if there is anything I can show that isn't in the book. The book of course is more info and more in depth info as to how to choose the right fabric etc.

We'll see. I like to offer a little something for those who can't afford to buy the book. But I'm not sure if I can find a way to offer a tute without compromising the book. I hope I can.
