Dresden Plates Phase 1
1 Attachment(s)
I bought a charm pack from JoAnn to practice making Dresdens and now I love it so much I bought two more and here they are. Now I need to know how you like to applique them on. I tried a zig zag and it looked ok, but its not easy. Any suggestions?

They are gorgeous!...I think I would use a tiny button hole stitch..but that's just me.

i like the button hole stitch as well. i can get it to look more even than the zig zag

I finished a couple of quilts begun by a friend's GM and DM about 1933. They pieced, basted the edges, tacked them on the background blocks and blanket stitched them with black perle cotton. I did the same. They had the pointed pieces. I also did an appliqued flower for him the same way. The method suited the history of the work.

You can sew them on by hand with hidden stitches or satin stitch or blanket stitch by hand or machine.

I do the pointed blades and sew each blade a 1/4" from seam.

fun colors !!

Id like to see that

You 1/4 all around the blade?
