It was the March/April 2011 issue. The have just recently came out with a book with
most of their patchwork animals in it.

So cute. I am currently working on the elephant. Lot's of 2.5" squares to put together :)

I made some short strip sets and then sub-cut. I made some that were just 2 pieces and some that were 3 and then did cut some single squares. It made it go a little faster, but it also meant you had to really pay attention if you didn't want identical ones next to each other.

I love it too.

Sweet quilt.

QandE2010 01-15-2014 07:44 AM

It's a very special quilt for your newest granddaughter. Especially because you listened to your 2 1/2 yr old regarding the design and color. It will be treasured forever. Did the 2 1/2 get a quilt too?

mjhaess 01-15-2014 07:58 AM

Well, now... isn't that Just Ducky! I like your duck, with it's big bill. But I'm really impressed with the use of the RickRack around the borders. I've seen a lot of ugly zig zagging, but you have caught the spirit, and it completes the quilt very nicely. Good job.

MargeD 01-15-2014 11:10 AM

It's a super cute quilt, she will love it I'm sure.

I love your quilt! Thought it would be an applique so it was a pleasant surprise to see the duck is pieced (I don't do applique). I'll have to try and get the pattern. Thanks for the source.

The 2 1/2 year old has a couple of quilts so she didn't get one this time. Although she got a fleece mitten bag for Christmas. I will post a picture of that when I remember to take one. But you make a big mitten out of fleece and she snuggles in it for her naps when she is home. I want to make another one for her to have at my house.

Very pretty......sweet story...

links123 01-17-2014 11:52 PM

THe 2 1/2 year old may not want a quilt so you can have a good design on it and also with some costly embrodry work on it.

kwiltkrazy 01-22-2014 08:44 PM

I just love your quilt. I have a book that has a lot of patterns done in 2 1/2" squares, like mosaics, they just turn out so neat. Good way to use up left overs.
