I've managed to finish this duffle bag for my darling grand-daughter's 10th birthday on time!!!

Great projects!! I get your thriftiness. Growing up, we never got rid of anything with the buttons and zippers still on them. For the zippers, we measured them, the edges starched and ironed and stored flat waiting for the next project. Of course the clothes were generally thread bare by the time we got rid of them.

My guess is that she will love that bag and get lots of use out of it. Sleepovers, etc. Lovely extra gifts, too.
