This is so astoundingly beautiful. Thank you for going into such detail about the color and quilting pattern. This is truly a superb example of an ‘old’ pattern. Appreciate that you shared it with us.

I am very impressed. I love the mirror images. My mother made a double wedding ring and I need to finish it. You have inspired me. She also had breast cancer.

Congratulations on your fabulous quilting! You quilted it very similar to the one I posted a few weeks ago (DWR - WIP). The quilt is a treasure!

Superbly beautiful. I pray your aunt comes out as nicely as this quilt did. She did a magnificent job and the quilting is just perfect. It could be reversible. Good energy in this one that should be healing for whoever sleeps under it.

Wow! Absolutely beautiful! I guess her doing this while undergoing chemo kept her mind busy. As some have found out, waiting might be too late. Why not take it up to her soon so she can enjoy it? Lovely quilting!

Each of the rings contain 11 small wedges and each ring intersection is a mirror image of the opposite ring. A LOT of planning went into each ring. They are joined by pink and white blocks (fitting colors for a breast cancer survivor). I stitched in the ditch in each of those tiny wedges and around each ring; feathers in the all the white background fabric and the pink/white blocks. I layered white poly batting (MicroSafe from Joann's - the last of that bolt) on top of 100% Legacy cotton to give it definition and loft. I used almost a whole cone of FilTec white thread on it. I really don't want to call her to come and get it. Maybe I'll wait a month or two! :-)
WOW, it's absolutely beautiful :-) :-) :-) |
