:D :D :D :D Last night when I was supposed to be sleeping, I thought of some thing like this for the guys for Christmas as I had not found any thing for them and I think this will work out great. They are ear warmers and they can put them on and keep thier ears warm when they go out in the cold. Going to put them in with the game stuff I think or maybe make a couple extras and take them along so I'd have a gift for every one that I mised and hopefully I did not miss any one. Enjoy, Huggies, Fay

GReat idea huh??

Really neat. See-insomnia does have some benefits.

I was at a craft show not long ago and someone had something similar. She sewed a Steelers logo on the ear parts and was selling them for $10. (In this area you can paint a rock black and gold and sell it LOL).

Great idea and great job-they'll love them. thanks for sharing.

sweet dream! - using fleece?

Bobbinchick 12-02-2010 09:52 AM

I tried making one with fleece, but I have to take that one apart and try it again, but fleece can be used and would probably be best. I used some scrap valour looking fabric with batting in one of them and I have to tweek it a bit so mayme later I will play with it and maybe later I'll post the pattern I drew out the pattern myself. you can use this valour lookin' fabric and use a fuseable fleece inside whch would probablty be better But I'm going to make a template so the batting or fuseable fleece part will not be in the seam allowance and maybe that will cut down on bulk. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay. P.S. I used an el cheapo batt in one of them but I bet warm and natural would be good too. I have scraps of that and will give it a try also.

I have seen these in catologs..... an additional change , that I noticed in the catologs is they have a slit ( basically a BIG button hole) in front ,for the bill of the caps to go thru.... all my guys wear ball caps all year long!

I dont think the ones I have seen in catologs had batting.... if u use two layers of fleece do u think the batting would really be necessary?

I love it..... good job....

I have one redneck SIL.... he wears nothing but a beat up old cowboy hat.... I should try to make one for HIM!!!! LOL

I looked at those in a catalog recently. very nice!!!

No batting is needed with fleece. None of the high dollar fleece ones I have seen have batting. My two layer fleece hat is very warm without any.

When I first looked at the picture, I thought the pink was a hat. I couldn't imagine my boys wanting that. A pink shirt, yes, but not a pink hat!

I have one that is just like that. Two layers of fleese, and an elastic band in the back( about 2 inches long). The edges are bound. I love it!! Keeps me nice and warm.
