This is for a friend, whose baby boy passed away recently. They work with our indigenous community, and everyone sat and made these pieces together. I sewed the bit on, then the panels together. I added the elephants, as his mother is of Indian heritage. Another co worker is embroidering his name on the top.

My computer was taking its own sweet time, sorry, words were loaded but not image. I am putting another one now, so please be patient! And I did have it the right way up, but I can't get it to load that way, so you will have to crick your necks!

The blankets were made of possum skin, bark or kangaroo hides. Some were marked, others were left plain. Now, some decorate the coffin with handprints, symbols, emu feathers etc. |
