Now I really miss my family in good ol' Lexington TN. :)

That one is really special isn't it? I love the painted fabric. Somebody was really into the project when they did that one.

That is an intricate one isn't it....they are amazing pieces of art. We don't have anything like that here. Is it only done on the barns of quilters? Is it only in some parts of America? Sorry for all the questions, but it is an intriguing artform.

So I live in an area where we do not have barns and I have never seen such a thing. That is amazing!!! If I ever take any road trips I am going to start looking for them. Thanks for sharing.

I think there are several designated trails that you can take in different parts of the country where this has been done. The only one I am familiar with is in East Tennessee. The blocks are not limited to homes of quilters...they are painted by groups who want to "beautify" their areas and then permission is granted by the barn owner to hang it. The group maintains it.

Someone took a lot of time with that one. Very nice find.

Thanks sandpat...It's a great idea...visitors must love going on the barn quilt trail.
