Easter Table Runner

3 Attachment(s)
What are your thoughts about the Easter egg fabric added as borders? Please be truthful. This is a table runner for my work counter. Co-workers are asking me to hurry up and decorate for Easter before its over.

Yes, I have lots of the bunny fabric.

grandmaemma 03-22-2012 10:03 PM

I like the blue too:)

MaryMo 03-22-2012 10:50 PM

I think the bunny fabric would look great as a border. Blue is ok but it's almost too many colors.

BizzieLizzie 03-23-2012 01:13 AM

The easter egg fabric is nice and fun and looks good to me, but if you want it not too be too bright then the blue will suit. What do your colleagues think? Fun or calm?

mom-6 03-23-2012 02:20 AM

how wide is your border going to be? If it is really wide like the picture, I think I would prefer the blue, but if it is not so wide the easter egg fabric is such fun! Just a bit overwhelming in the picture.

sewbeadit 03-23-2012 02:50 AM

Its Easter and it is bright, I like the Easter egg fabric. On my moniter it looks like it matches perfectly.

Jackie Spencer 03-23-2012 03:21 AM

I like the easter egg fabric, it has the lavendar and pink in it too. Just my opinion, but a much better match than the blue.

K.P. 03-23-2012 03:28 AM

Don't care for the blue, doesn't coordinate with the other colors, I'd go with the Easter egg fabric, but not too wide a border, no more than 2 inches so it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the colors. In my opinion, any fabric with very bright yellows goes a long way, so keep it to a minimum, gonna be really cute!

Sew N Tune 03-23-2012 04:17 AM

Easter egg is my favorite. The blue was blah...

Jingle 03-23-2012 04:45 AM

I would use the Easter Egg fabric for other table toppers or runners. Purple would look better with the squares. Just my opinion.

BeckySt 03-23-2012 04:55 AM

The Easter egg fabric, I agree with the other person that say to much solids going on when you add blue. The eggs are cute and your border isn't going to be that big.

Nanaquilts44 03-23-2012 04:59 AM

Usually work environments can use some pizzaz. I would go with the Easter egg fabric.

mighty 03-23-2012 06:18 AM

I like the easter fabric the best.

alikat110 03-23-2012 06:37 AM

The color saturation of the egg fabric is too bright for the center and therefore detract from it. The blue is a better choice based on this, but, would you consider a pieced border?

Lady Jane 03-23-2012 06:44 AM

Why not a small blue border, then the bunny fabric as a last border.

Aunt Janey 03-23-2012 07:00 AM

I think the bunny fabric would be the best for the border. Use the eggs as the backing.

I like this idea. The egg fabric is cute, but IMHO it detracts from the center.

Rose Cactus 03-23-2012 07:25 AM

I go for the Easter eggs too.

Monroe 03-23-2012 07:35 AM

I suggest using more of the bunny fabric if you have it. The egg fabric is a bit too busy- at least in the picture- and the solids are a bit bland.

Grandma Jane 03-23-2012 08:52 AM

I think a lavender would be better. The green in the easter egg seems like it is just too much - I don't care for the blue either (I like both fabrics - just not on this project). Just my 2 cents.

vivsqt 03-23-2012 09:00 AM

Maybe you should put a skinny border in blue, then a larger border using the egg print. Keeps it fun!

littlesurfer 03-23-2012 09:09 AM

I like the Easter Egg fabric.

Like the Easter print best.

DebbE 03-25-2012 06:52 AM

Don't care for the blue - much better with the easter egg fabric, just using a smaller amount so your blocks are 'showcased'....lovely!

EvelynJ 03-25-2012 06:36 PM

Are you kidding me, this is perfect for the office. Fun, happy, and youthful. Shoot, if I worked in your office, I'd want you to hurry as well. LOL Perfect for a fun office party.

Easter table runner completed

Here is a picture of the completed table runner. Ok! I cheated, I used extra wide double fold bias tape as the binding. Will take pictures of the decorations sitting on the runner and send them later tomorrow.

alikat110 03-26-2012 05:16 PM

Now that worked perfectly!!!!! I love it

JEL523 03-27-2012 06:56 PM

Love the final product. I thought the egg fabric was overwhelming, too. Great job!

I need to downsized the pictures so you can see the whole thing at once. How do I do that. I will play around with it.
