I am tickled to use my quilt display to take such a great photo of the tee shirt quilt I just finished. I usually take photos of my quilt laying on the floor. And at that angle it is possible for the most awesome quilt to look less than spectacular. If you have the means to get a quilt display, I recommend it.

awesome,

where do you buy a quilt display at? I was wondering if you could also use a quilt display for a design wall???

Pineapple Princess 06-03-2010 12:03 PM

Well ... I know I spent alot more than $100 for mine (LQS quality). But I went to Google and asked for "quilt display stand" and found one on Amazon.

Do you have a link to the one at Amazon? I couldn't find anything similar there. I *need* one of these!

Our quilt group paid a lot for a stand similar to the one in the pic, that was called a quilt display stand. Then a photographer friend saw our stand and told us that they are frequently used by photographers to hold up their backdrops, or rolls of paper. Hey presto, we were then able to check them out, and got some at less than half the price of our original one. They come in well made carry bags that are about 4ft long and easily transportable, so now our quilt group owns 8 of them that we use for exhibitions.

I'm really anxious to find out how and where you found these stands! Could you give a link?

I hope the address works ... and thanks for saying nice things about my quilt. There was nothing to it. I just love that stand!

What a nice arrangement of shirts. You did great and I can see that the display makes the quilt show off better for pictures.

That is a spectacular quilt. You did a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing.

I love your Quilt Pam.. and thanks for the info on the Quilt stand.. didn't know they existed

CoyoteQuilts 06-04-2010 08:24 AM

Love your quilt! Just noticed where you are from.... Loved your little 'town'! I grew up in Locke, NY which is situated about 20 miles from Ithaca, Cortland and Auburn! I graduated from BOCES in Auburn more years ago then I want to remember :)! We traveled through Waterloo to go from home to my sisters place in Bliss, NY. It's sad what has happened to all the little towns along route 5 & 20. What character they have!

Hubby is a photographer and his backdrop stands have become MINE to hang quilts from! lol I cart them outside when I need extra height for larger quilts. I just love them!!

P.S. Hubby isn't too thrilled about them no longer being his though! lol

That is very cool. I know Locke and Bliss! We small towns have to stick together!
I am proud to have grown up and raised my family in a small town. My youngest is the one who has plans to fly (by all means!) but my older two are also raising their families close to home too.
That is not to say that sometimes I daydream about living somewhere "exotic" and less familiar.
