Ellie-phant quilt is all done! My DIL almost fainted!

I posted some progress pictures a few weeks ago, and now it's all done!!
My grand daughters name is Ellie and her mommy loves elephants. I couldn't believe how perfect this quilt was when I found it. Here's my inspiration: http://grapes-hearts.blogspot.com/20...quilt.html?m=1 (That woman is a genius!) A few notes: I had to draw my own Ellie-phant and I really like her. If I did it again, she'd have a longer body and a shorter tail, but I'm in love with her ear and eyelashes! Postage stamp quilts are cRaZy, but I think I've got the technique now and I'm as proud of the back of the top as I am of the front! I think I have the technique down now and my next one would have fewer wonky blocks. I wish I had trimmed it down another 3/4" on the right so the binding comes right up to the Ellie-phant. At this point, I just can't take off the trim and re-do it. So, without further adieu, here's my Ellie-phant! |
Just too cute! It will be a treasure for your daughter and grand daughter Ellie.

Absolutely adorable!! The elephants are super cute--and yes, the eyelashes are terrific. All those pieces are cRaZy as you say ,but the fabrics really are fun. Ellie is a blessed granddaughter!
