This quilt is from Carolyn Cullinan McCormick's No Stress paper piecing. I made it larger than in the book and being a new quilter screwed something up but it still looks ok.

Beautiful. You did a fabulous job.

Very pretty colours, really cosy!! It looks moooore than ok to me, well done, have you quilted it yet, hard to tell in the picture. :-) :-)
|
No I haven't quilted it. I met a woman at my first quilting retreat who said I love making the tops but I "quilt by Cheque book" I do the same . I have hooked up with a woman in Regina Saskatchewan to whom I send my quilt tops and backing and she does the sandwichinc=g and quilting and sends them back to me for binding!!!Being new to the obsession I must say doing the tops really does it for me but doing the quilting--Nope!!Not until we are settled again somewhere for good>

Stunning! What a fabulous use of the colors!

Thanks
That is actually the first quilt I have done without scrap fabric and not blocks from Carol Doak's book. Have to say the scrappy quilts were more fun!!Got toplay with various colours of fabrics more!! Next one!!!That was my fifth quilt!!Obsessed!!Yes!! |
I really love it!! I just love finding new patterns for quilts. I have so many that I want to do.........I hope I have the time

I think you did a great job on your quilt! I have only done one paper pieced quilt and I really enjoyed it, I love how your points turn out so nice and uh...pointy! :D :D

That would be because of the paper piecing!!!!
|
Beautiful!! I don't see any screw ups...looks fabulous to me. I love the colors. :)
|
It's beautiful!
|
Great Job!!!
I'm not familiar with Carolyn Cullinan McCormick. Have done lots of Carol Doak's stars. I think paper piecing is the ONLY way to go for anything that is pointy. |
tricky, what a georgeous quilt. doesn't look the least bit "screwed up" to me. i love it. the colors are wonderful.
|
This quilt design came from her book No Stress Paper piecing and it comes with a CD for the foundations--fabric cutting is laid out for cotton and flanelette. It is available at www.chapters.ca and amazon.com She designed the add a quarter ruler!!
The sides are not as long as I would have normally done them--I can still add to them if it drives me crazy!!! |
What a pretty pattern! You did just fine. Very nice!! :D
|
This quilt is a stunner! Nice job! Beautiful colors!
|
was it true what it said on the book cover...stress free paper piecing...??
|
tricky, I love the new quilt! The colors look beeeuuuuteeeful! I'm almost through with 2 current quilts and I can't wait to get back to try more than just the 1 paper pieced block. You really inspired me with the paper piecing thing, its tons of fun :D

that's absolutely beautiful and sure doesn't show any screw up. And I love the paper piecing too, it's so easy and fool proof since i'm a new quilter too. here's one i did called the pineapple, and am working on another one just like it only different colors. love this site and all the hints & tips. a good place to order paper piecing patterns is
littlefoot.net. first one i did one i'm working on now |
Oh, Tricky, such a pleasing group of colors! It is a beautiful quilt---there are no "screw ups" only slight changes in design....

If there is a screw-up (which I cannot see), it evidently added to the quilt. It is just beautiful. I love your colors, they really work together.
Dojo...your puppy seems to think the WIP is pretty cool as is! :) |

Love your quilt i hope i get brave enough to try the paper peiceing someday thanks for sharing
|
dojo, love the pineapple quilt! You've tempted me to try something like that. I like your WIP also...keep us posted, can't wait to see more progress on it!
