My daughter surprised me with these embroidered blocks she made. I've fussed over them for weeks not knowing what to do with them. I finally just went for it & I'm pleased with the result. SO FAR! Now, I don't know if I should just use a narrow binding or find a pretty floral for a wider border. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I would do a pretty floral.

looks good so far --i would go with a floral but an understated one ie pale with creamy background--a miix of your framing colours may look good for the binding---don't forget a pic when its finished

Yep I agree with Jemma. A soft floral border would look good.

I'm with the most...soft floral would be nice. :O)

Beautiful embroidery work. I think a floral border sounds just right for this quilt. Great job.

What a lovely surprise & what a treasure too. Can't wait to see how you complete the process.

Beautiful.

I would go for simply the narrow binding. I think those flowers are works of art that deserve their spotlight.

I think just binding. The sashing is like a built in border and I feel adding one would take away from the blocks.

suezquilts 02-01-2011 05:44 AM

I would look for a border with the colors of the sashing.
This is beautiful. You are one blessed Mama!
Enjoy the Art!

Very pretty.....yes a floral outer border will be beautiful!

Very, very pretty! I agree, a soft boarder so as to not detract from the beautiful embroidery & quilting.

Those blocks are beautiful, she did nice work on them! I would add a plain border to the quilt so as not to "take away" from the embroidered flowers.
