What a coincidence. I was going through a box of fabrics/quilts from my husband's grandmother and found several blocks exactly like the ones you have done. Unfortunately I only have a few, but they are certainly a cherished pattern. You have done a marvelous job in finishing your Mom's work.

She is my favorite of the sunbonnet group, and not just because of the name. (See Avitar) Not only are they charming but because they were your mom's they are priceless.
I think she is also called the Parasol Lady too. There is a pattern in the Quilterscache.com |
Miss Emma is beautiful. Lovely and bright
|
Very very lovely.

I am sure your mom would be pleased that you finished it....... quilting is awesome!
|
Beautiful work, so nice you are able to finish it, makes the quilt very very special.
|
A really cute quilt. The older patterns have such appeal. We have sunbonnet sue, a newer easier version of your quilt.
|
Your quilt is beautiful. I love the old vintage patterns and the sunbonnets have always been one of my favorites. I remember a quilt my grandmother had that was Sunbonnet Sue's. It was a much used, well loved quilt that had been washed and repaired many times, but it was always my favorite quilt.

Not one for vintage quilts as a rule, this one definitely had me saying, 'Awwwwwww, it's so sweet'. The top and the quilting are perfect together.

Gorgeous quilt !!! I have one my great- grandmother made for me when I was two. What year did your mom make the quilt? Mine has many similar fabrics in it. We were trying to decide how old my quilt is.
