A while back I mentioned I was heading up an Employee Quilt Show, and just realized I didn't show off the pics!
We showed on city campus (University of Nebraska Lincoln) for 2 weeks and then at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum for 2 weeks. Enjoy! It took her 6 years to hand piece all the octagons. She would spend nights awake, remembering all her fabrics, and trying to decide what would coordinate. As she finished a flower, she would put it in a wicker basket to stay flat. Her 88 year old mother cut all the yellow and green shapes, and did the hand binding. She had a quilt group hand quilt it. She brought one of the Carousel Horses she had made about 34 years ago. We posted a sign asking people to find the fabric of the horse on the quilt. People really enjoyed that. close up of some of the flowers Carousel Horse fabic is found in one flower, and in one shape of the border |
