Quoting feathers and Patrice God gave you all the talent. Girl - what are you worried about? Enough already!   enter any category you can for the fair and I'm sure you will win.   I personally like the black, white, and red quilt.
Have fun!

I am in a quandry when I consider my county fair, because I worry about theft. I have never heard of a quilt getting stolen from the county fair, but I would be devastated if it ever happened! Usually when I get a quilt finished I save it for the quilt show at my Mom's church. It's a very relaxed show, and there is no judging or strict quilting "law" there. That show is about a month after the fair, so if anything "happened" to a quilt at the fair, it would mess up being ready for the church show.
Perhaps I should look into the county fair security before I should assume the worst. And, now that there are two quilt shops fairly close by, perhaps I can ask other quilters about their fair experiences. Shame on me, I haven't even gone to the fair in years! And I live within spittin' distance!

Sorry to be so long winded! Melanie, your work is gorgeous! I love your avatar!

At our county fair they have security 24/7 and at a designated time each night ...about 10:00 all the exhibit barns are locked up until 6 or 7 AM the next day when the supervisors of each class show up. Our county is over 100 years old and there's never been a theft that anyone has ever heard about ...I'm sure your county fair board are just as security conscience as ours is but YES, it would be devastating to lose a quilt. Please, do enter things in the Fair...it's so fun and it's a piece of our Americana that is dying for lack of interest and participation. I hate to see that happen.

I would go with the Log Cabin and the blue painting. I would alos enter the colorful quilt top and the Celtic crib sized quilt. You should do very well in each of the categories with these entries. They're all beautiful.

That's a good point about "dying for lack of interest and participation".
I must get off my butt....next year!

Oh! Good! You'll be glad you entered. Entries don't have to be quilts...they have potholders, aprons, purses, kids pajamas, ...all kinds of categories. Hope you will and hope you love it as much as I do.

Feathers took the words right out of my mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The colorful quilt is my favorite, and my favorite painting is the little girl/baby one. I love watercolor medium, my favorite!!!!

Show us your ribbons when you get them! I will be watching.

Both of the quilts you have for the pieced are beautiful, but I'm more drawn to the B&W&R. I love the crib quilt. I certainly would have used that for a little one. The colorful one knocks my socks off. WOW! I love your pieced block. I love both of your paintings. I would probably enter the children, but for some reason that I can't put my finger on, I am really drawn to the other painting. All of your work is fantastic and I am sure you will do well at the fair. Best of luck.
