It is here. Not set up but one of the inspectors is on the job. Hopefully my "Honey" will have time later this week. I am so excited I can hardly think, but scarred cause will I figure out how to use it...is it going to work well, is it big enough or too big..........arrrrgghhhh!
Actually I did use this machine once when my friend had it. I quilted my latest Grand Daughter's quilt on it.

Congratulations! I hope to have space for a quilting frame (and maybe a long arm machine) someday! I don't know that I could pause long enough to take pictures. :-D

Your kitten is adorable! Can I post that picture on my catsonquilts blog?

GrammaNancy 06-14-2010 08:06 AM

Sure, would have like to have gotten her partner in crime too!

Marjpf 06-14-2010 08:09 AM

How exciting! I admire your patience not to just try to set the whole thing up yourself. Not sure which is cuter - the kitten or the grand daughter.I'm going to go with the grand daughter. She going to be a real beauty when she grows up.

Well, well, well, you have lots of help, I see! Let me know how it goes.

I have this same set up and CANNOT get smooth curves. PLEASE ask the rep about it. Mine was given to me and I brought it home in the back of my pick up, so I got NO help.

Best of luck with your new baby.

Oooo I would be sleepless with anticipation!!! Lucky You!!! :D:D:D

Your DGD is adorable sitting on her quilt, and it looks like your inspector/helper is doing a fine job too :D:D:D

What a beauty you have not just the adorable granddaughter and your quilt inspector. Lucky you to be blessed with three.

I actually got the machine and frame from a friend. (she went larger, really larger and computerized) So I lucked out. I did use it when she had it set up and quilted the pink baby quilt for Elizabeth. I made stars and curves and they went quite well for a first timer. I will ask my friend what she thinks your machine might be doing.

It is NOT the machine, that is fine, it is how it rolls on the frame. It is GREAT at N, S, E & W, but the curves are not graceful. Too choppy, with angles, grrr.

Isn't she wonderful. She lives in Georgia at Ft. Benning. I am in Washington State. I think they might be coming home next month unless Disney World wins over Gramma & Grampa.

Which set up is it?

donna873 06-15-2010 03:04 AM

Oh wow, congratulations! I know how you feel..when the boxes started showing up with my handiquilter, I thought I was going to freak out..alot of money and I needed to learn to use it.. it has been such a joy (and addiction). we spend alot of time in our rv where I make my quilt tops..then I drive the 180 miles home so I can playyyyy..have fun.

mytwopals 06-15-2010 07:41 AM

I too have the Pfaff GrandQuilter Hobby 1200 and Next Generation frame. Do your carriages have the original plastic wheels? If so, they make metal replacement wheels and the machine moves much easier and more accurately with the metal wheels. I got mine online at Whitlocks Sewing and Vacuum.

littlehud 06-15-2010 03:36 PM

Oh my goodness. Have fun with that.

It looks like you are going to have fun, and with Little Miss how can you not.
