When you said orange, I was skeptical! But this is great! Good job!

nanababy 04-18-2011 06:16 PM

I think it is awesome and I have always considered orange to be an extremely happy color, congrats on not giving up. You should make another one soon you know practice makes perfect......

Jingle 04-18-2011 06:28 PM

I could not see any points that don't match.
It is beautiful and I think you did a great job.

MDMPanther 04-18-2011 06:29 PM

Candi, it's beautiful...I love orange too!! And I so appreciate your story....it helps me to laugh at myself when I've been strip piecing for several minutes without bobbin thread and all the pieces i thought were sewn are a pile behind my machine!!

GrammaO 04-18-2011 06:44 PM

It turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story.

tolepainter54 04-18-2011 06:52 PM

I really like it.

watson's mom 04-18-2011 06:53 PM

Beautiful quilt, beautiful job . I think it looks great, and thank you for sharing.

luckylindy333 04-18-2011 06:54 PM

Very pretty, and it lies flat! I have heard people give them cup sizes when they won't lie flat, just to be funny!!!

QM 04-18-2011 06:56 PM

You certainly met the challenge. Orange is my least favorite color, but even I admire what you did.

nativetexan 04-18-2011 06:59 PM

All I can say is , but I love it!!! it's gorgeous!! really!!!

Sewfine 04-18-2011 07:05 PM

Candi
((((Done is better than perfect...at least when quilting)))
seems u forget to read this. lol
I know we always looking for perfect but your star is human star and nothing wrong with it. It's nice colours, flat ,big enough, hard working and good job . so relax

mzmama 04-18-2011 07:16 PM

From here,Texas, the seams look matched to me. Look great.

luvnquilt 04-18-2011 07:35 PM

Gorgeous color!!! I love your quilt. Thanks for sharing.

wvdek 04-18-2011 07:37 PM

Wow, that sure pops. The darker orange, to my eyes, seems to be 'moving' or going in and out. I like it.

Leota 04-18-2011 07:42 PM

That's really awesome!.... You can't see the unmatched points from five feet away... there for .... It's good :D

Kappy 04-18-2011 07:45 PM

Oh, I love it. I am partial to orange.

emerald46 04-18-2011 08:29 PM

From the Lone Star State - you did a beautiful job. U of Texas colors as well!

rushdoggie 04-18-2011 08:39 PM

Its pretty!

FranW 04-18-2011 08:43 PM

Beautiful quilt! And your DH is a keeper.

littleone 04-18-2011 08:51 PM

Candi, loved reading your story, and your quilt turned out perfect.

Love angels 04-18-2011 09:28 PM

I love this quilt. You did a fantastic job. I haven't made one of these yet. If or when I do, I have learned from your story that if the points don't match it's ok. Thanks for sharing with us.

charismah 04-18-2011 10:04 PM

I love it!

katier825 04-19-2011 01:26 AM

I don't see anything off...it looks perfect to me! Love the orange. I think we are our own worst critics. Most people wouldn't notice slight mismatching. I don't rip out much anymore. If it's less than 1/8", no one will notice but me - especially once it's quilted and washed.

fixfido 04-19-2011 01:44 AM

I've made several lone stars, and this looks pretty darn great to me!

justlooking 04-19-2011 03:03 AM

Great job!

quiltingfan 04-19-2011 03:06 AM

I love it. You will be the only one that sees the unmatched points. Looks awesome , one day I am hoping to make one in red, blue and white.

Homespun 04-19-2011 03:11 AM

Looks wonderful from here!

thenonnielady 04-19-2011 03:16 AM

I am binding the pinky-purple one I just made for a 13 yr old granddaughter. I had the same problems. But it is quilted now and looks great. Yours looks fabulous. Good job.

LivelyLady 04-19-2011 03:18 AM

Wow! Looks beautiful!

Jagsd3 04-19-2011 03:25 AM

Beautiful!

Homemother 04-19-2011 03:34 AM

Hi Candy - you are really making me like orange! The quilt is beautiful! Worth all the effort!

rn2wendt 04-19-2011 03:52 AM

I feel your pain, always wanted to do a star quilt so found some triangle points my mom left me after her death, thought I had it down really well until the final seams, had quite a cone, oh well, nothing is perfect, right, your quilt looks beautiful.

red-warrior 04-19-2011 03:53 AM

I love it!

SueSew 04-19-2011 03:59 AM

Candi, thank you so much for sharing your story. I had a horrible triangle experience on my second project, and still haven't recovered. Your perseverence shows - I'm glad you finished it and I can't see anything wrong with it, and it is nice and flat too. You're an inspiration! Quilt it up! :D :D :D

brightstar_202 04-19-2011 04:13 AM
