Fabric Find
1 Attachment(s)
Today at a garage sale there was one plastic container with fabric pieces. Lady said to make an offer. I said $5. She said it is yours....most pieces are at least 1/4 yard, some larger. As I was unfolding each piece and putting in washer I kept thinking of the things I could make with these!
|
So what is whirling around in your brain--I would be doing that over and over until it all gets placed on shelves in my sewing room, unless I come up something before I get to the sewing room with it. Congratulations, $5 well spent.
|
Lucky you, what a great bargain.
|
Great haul! I recognize some of the pieces...good ones!

I see a child's quilt in your future - maybe an I-spy quilt.

Lucky you!! I made many things out of the beautiful leaf fabric you have there on the left. I was sorry when I ran out of that one.

Congrats on your great bargain of fabrics!

Great find. Looks like many childrens quilts in your future. If you don't have a lot of children in mind, Project Linus is a good place to look.
|
Great find. Happy quilting.

Wow great find. Wish I could go to a yard sale and find such a bargain. You are very lucky indeed.
Can't wait to see what you make with it. First fabric that caught my eye from the group was the one with the fall leaves on it. :-) Be sure to post a pic of quilt you make with these treasures. :-) Rachel |
Congrats on your nice score!

Baby quilt! I have made many and recognize some of the fabric.

YEAH!! Good for you!

Great buy! You've got some fun fabrics to work with.
And you've hit on what is my biggest problem in quiltmaking: how to use fabric I've fallen in love with! I have a hard time deciding on patterns....or I should say ideas, since I don't buy or use patterns, but just figure out blocks from quilts I see. Right now I'm struggling with how to use a striped fabric that matches my bedroom curtains (actually fabric left over when I cut the curtains from sill length to a valance). I'd love to make the disappearing pinwheel churndash, or whatever that is, but don't think this block will work well with stripes. I may resort to warm wishes or rail fence or some variation on a simple 9 patch, or maybe an Irish chain, which I've always wanted to make. |
I love finding buys like this!!
