I just felt like showing you.
My daughter chose these from my stash for her next ragged flannel.

My son's girl, Jenny, and I went shopping for her fabric today! This is a combination of some stash and what she found at the LQS--well kind of local.

And this is a photo scanned form McCall's Quick Quilts magazine--Sept 2009 issue, of an applique I want to try. I wasn't going to do it anytime soon, but saw these the two coodinating fabrics at Joanne's yesterday, so grabbed them while they were there. Then, since Jenny and I were standing in a quilt shop today :D , I poked around for some blues to go with the two and found what's in the last picture. It's a challenge to match! There are so many gorgeous "white" and blues, but they're really cream and blue. Bummer. :? Someday I'll learn to just buy fabrics someone already said go together!

The pattern from Quick Quilts:

The first two--you can clearly see why they were a perfect start!

And the two with the others....

Plus, I'll be working on those bookmarks for students.
And, I have potholders to make for a craft show...fabric in the middle here:

And I only get to the sewing room on weekends.
I'm in big trouble.

I have a tilting stack of new fabric waiting to get rinsed--I'll start tomorrrow! (But , if it's nice I'll be outside......)

Well for the sake of your sanilty... I hope the weather is not all that great tomorrow  That way you can start working with all the wonderful fabric

crkathleen 10-17-2009 06:52 PM

I love all your fabrics! I think you did great matching the blue fabrics!!

barnbum 10-17-2009 06:54 PM

The second from the left doesn't look right to me from the photo--but it looks good in person. :D

I like your fabrics.... all of them. Your daughter did a great job of picking out her fabrics. looks like you have some work to keep you busy on the weekends!

joeyoz 10-17-2009 08:55 PM

OOOOOh. Pretty. That oughta keep you busy for a while.

gaigai 10-17-2009 09:09 PM

ROFLMAO! I have several of those fabrics! What did I tell you about our similar (exceptionally good )tastes!!!

My friend JoeAnn and I are scary that way. I can't tell you how many times we gone to each other and said "Oh, look at the great fabric I just bought" and then we both pulled out the exact same fabric. In fact when I threatened to come raid her stash recently, her reply was "Why bother? You have most of the same fabric already anyhow!"

Your DD's new quilt fabric is great. It wil be smashing.
The others look great, too.
The blue quilt is pretty, can't wait to see yours.

omak 10-17-2009 10:06 PM

Looks like you have your work cut out for yourself!
Or, at least ... you will in a few days, eh? LOL

Iluv2quilt 10-17-2009 10:48 PM

Wow! You have some beautiful fabric in your stash!! I love the flannels she chose! I also really like the pattern and the blues you chose to add to that marvelous stash you have going. The material for potholders is very cute!

earthwalker 10-17-2009 11:33 PM

Beautiful fabric, I especially like the birds and the birds and butterflys....and love those flannels.

ranger 10-18-2009 03:11 AM

Lovely fabrics. You've got a lot of projects on the go. I like the McCalls quilt pattern.

One of my favorite parts of quilting is buying the fabrics.....though it's not so good for the budget.
Sometimes I really have to be stern with myself or I'd end up buying WAY,WAY more than I can afford.

craftiladi 10-18-2009 04:18 AM

Barnbum...you have some lovely projects ahead of you-very nice choices. Thank-you for sharing.

RANGER....loving to buy fabric....lol...I think thats how 3/4's of my projects get started, falling in love w/ the fabric.

GaiGai..how fun that must be to have friend you can enjoy a craft with. Non of my friends are into any sort of craft let along quilting, they just don't get it when I get all excited over finding & falling in love w/ fabric.

Sharon...the winters months are saved for sewing, I think thats why I love living where there are definant season chgs. If the sun is shining I can't resist i am out in the yd playing.

amma 10-18-2009 07:11 AM

Very pretty fabrics.

sandpat 10-18-2009 04:34 PM

Oh my gosh! I'm totally recognizing the green from you DD's quilt- used it on my DJ Christmas blocks....and a lot of the flannels...are in my bottom drawer because I'm scared...never worked with flannel before...

AND I don't have any of your blues...but they are really nice looking...I'd have to see that 2nd one in person to be sure..but they all look great otherwise and will be fabulous in that pattern!

I was outside all day today...rode all day...no quilting...but that will come on a rainy day!

RedGarnet222 10-18-2009 05:31 PM
