here is some fabric I am considering making into a stack and wack or 4 patch posey, what do you think?

You know, I think it's one of those fabrics that could be an OK OBW.
Or a SPECTACULAR one.
You just won't know until you cut it up.
There is a lot of value variation in that print.
I think the final product will be very fiery. Or Halloween-ish.
Both very cool (in a hot sense) and unusual outcomes.

Please post pics when you're done.

You could use one of those mirrors that are specially made to preview/audition the fabric.

Any way you cut it, it will be gold and orange! I like orange - a lot!

Beautiful fabric. I would have a hard time cutting that one.

I just started a 4 patch stacked posey and meet with a local instructor about fabric choices. Yours is similar to what I origianlly choose but she said there was not enough color varation unless you wanted the blocks to be pretty much the same. She suggested one using more colors and having a medium amount of what I called background and she called void. The void can be large if it has varying degrees of color. Hope that helps.

It is a beautiful fabric, and will make a beautiful quilt. For stack and whack quilts I like fabrics that have more colors, but that is just me.

I think that the repeat is pretty close together and there won't be much variety between the colors or patterns in your wedges. I've done a couple of OBW's and I think they turn out best when there is a fairly large print with lots of different colors. The print needs to be all over, not too much empty background. Your fabric does have that aspect.

I'm working on a floral one now. It has light green, dark green, light cream background, pink, purple, blue, yellow, red, fuschia. It is going to be very full of contrast and variety.

Now I am not sure what to do with it but i bought it because i fell in love with the fabric and NEEDED to own it. If not stack n wack or 4 posey what else would you suggest? I just liked the look of the fabric. Open to any and all ideas!

If you have enough of it or even if you had to piece it you could always do a backing with it. It would be beautiful for backing!!
