I'm going to make a quilt for a little homeless girl in my county. I was told she loves pink, yellow and orange.

So I shopped in my stash. I had to buy the pink with a gazillion dots that's on the left for background.

Those will make a stunning quilt. What pattern are you using?

Sandee 09-04-2011 12:52 PM

You did a great job "shopping". Wonderful combination!

This girl loves your fabric choices!

I'm thinking of doing Courthouse Steps blocks with one round of each of the floral fabrics, so they look like concentric squares, and alternating with plain blocks in the dotty pink P&B Chloe.

How did this little girl get homeless? Does someone care
for her?

I don't know the particulars of her circumstance, just that they are a family of a mother and several daughters. They are staying in a small apartment now, courtesy of the county housing authority.

The county is great about addressing the causes of the homelessness and not just taking care of the need for housing. They offer resources for whatever is needed: protection of domestic abuse, legal aid, education, counseling, etc.

Thank you for the info on the little girl. So glad she has a family & they are together. Will pray that their circumstances get
much better soon.

Thanks for your kind words.

One of my favorite quotes is "It's better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness." I can't do anything about "the homeless problem." But at least I can make the world a warmer place for this one little homeless child, one stitch at a time.

It feels good to do good.
