I haven't posted an pics for awhile. This is a fake bargello lap quilt I made for my older daughter. She kept saying "Don't make me a quilt," so I called it a wall hanging instead, and she seemed to like it.

Great job! The colors are gorgeous, too.

It is pretty....but I have a question....why do you call it a "fake" bargello? Looks like a real one to me!!! :)
|
I'm wondering what Country Quilter is wondering!?!? Absolutely love the "wall hanging" and the colors are fantastic!!!
|
You faked me out, love those colors
|
I'm with the others - looks pretty real to me - I am VERY fond of Blue - so I LOVE IT! Can you share the pattern?
|
Very pretty! :D

Rein--
I got both the pattern and the fabrics from the Pincushion Boutique. Here's the link for the quilt pattern. Take a look at their "Sweet Treats" too! http://www.sweettreat.com/pages/quilts/stairstepper.JPG |
Hey Harmony,
I went to the site you posted but all it comes up is with the picture????? Cheers Vivienne |
That's pretty darned clever and the colors are fantastic.

I think I know why it is called a fake. Maybe because it is done in strips not sewn in a circle then cut? Am I correct? If not I would love to know.
|
Oh Yeah, Just a litte tip Viv and who ever else, when you go to a site and the link does not work just delete all the letters backwards to the .com Leave the .com and everything else before it and then click enter or whatever to go the site. Just a hint. Example for this link
http://sweettreat.com/index1.html you could delete /indes1.html and have this instead http://sweettreat.com and it will work. And you can do it right in the bar where the address link did not work. This is a great trick to get you to alot of different sites. Such as when a site takes you to a special project and you would like to see more of that site just delete the end and go in. Get it? |
I just get a building picture

Not done in a circle at all. It's just strips sews together vertically, then joined horizontally. Notice that the strips at the bottom and the top are different lengths. This was an amazingly easy quilt to make, and lots of fun!

Sewn in a circle? Not understanding that. I thought it was all just sewn in strips? |
Yes, that's what I said. It's sewn in vertical strips first, then you join them horizontally. There are no circles involved. That's why I made a FAKE bargello--I don't understand the whole circle concept!
|
And that is exactly what I said how I thought is was done. So it was clear as mud from the beginning :D

This is where I found the pattern on the site:
