Although it is still hot here in California, the seasons are starting to change. It's not as dramatic in other parts of the country but I always welcome fall with cooler temperatures, changing colors on the horizon, and animals getting ready for winter.
(Can't you tell we just moved to the mountains? Seeing a squirrel find an acorn is still exciting!---lol) Anyway, my DH needed something for a silent auction for the service organization he belongs to and I thought I'll just whip up a table runner. Everything always seems to take longer than you think it will but regardless I was happy with the results. I have not mastered FMQ but can sititch in the ditch and echo quilt with the best of them which is what I did. I did outline the leaves. It was an easy pattern to follow. In fact, I think this was from one of Sondra's posts on the links and resources page. Thanks, Sondra! |
That's really pretty!
I love that fabric! Oh and squirrels just get me going too! I love watching them! I just finished a table runner using some leftover pieces I had from the one I posted in FOR ME. Came out pretty good. I'll sell this one at the craft fair. :) |
Very pretty runner. As for squirrels.........not my favorite animals. The silly things like to transplant my tulip bulbs for me. Every spring I end up with random tulips in the middle of the yard!

Can you send me the link for this table runner. I would love to make this for my daughter. I am new to quilting. ( have only made 2 quilts so far) taken lots of classes, including paper pieceing and applique. I find this site has sooo many links it is hard for me to find the one you are referring to. If you could send it to me I would really appreciate it. My email is [email protected]
Thanks Angie Beri from Ontario Canada! |
Love your runner!!
The fabric you picked are very nice!! |
Very pretty :D

Very pretty. I love fall colors and you picked out some great fabrics. Nice job quilting, too. (I still can't do that FMQ either). Thanks for sharing your pictures.
|
Joan--that came out really pretty and your quilting is great!!
|
Beautiful table runner, and great fabrics. Runners are fun to do because they're pretty quick--I don't always want the commitment to a whole quilt! Satisfying!
|
Love the leaves fabric ! So fallish  Was this a recent link from Sondra ? Will have to go and add it to my someday pile

Really nice runner Joan! Fall is in the air here too. We were scouting elk in the mountains yesterday and it was a cool 51 with a wind! Brrrrr!
|
Joan, love your runner. Really makes me want to jump on my fall fabrics, AND to get my table runners started, lol! I got the living room painted, now just have to do some touching up, make the t. runners, wall quilt, hang the new curtains, and make the rocking chair pads.
DD is going to clean the carpet for me. Sure would be nice to have all this done before Christmas, but.... |
Oh Look! How nice! I love fall leaves and flowers. Very nice work, Joan.
