Close. They are tone-on-tones and batiks. The brick red is solid. I was happy to use the brick red up. I had purchased five yards for a quilt for my son, and then he told me he wanted a different color. (He didn't know I'd already purchased the brick red.) I didn't know how I'd use it, and so I tried to sell it. No takers. I'm glad it finally got used up. I used a little of it in a small wall-hanging. Isn't it great when you get rid of a long-time resident of your stash?

Love the quilt and pattern! Great job and fast.
I have a male friend that I have been looking for a pattern that would suit his more modern asianisk decor. I think this may fit the bill.

If that leaf print looks like something naughty, it is. I'm calling this quilt "Dave's Not Here." You have to be old enough to remember Cheech and Chong to get it. If you're not old enough . . . well . . . that's all I'm going to say about it. I'll just add that my friend will love the fabric.

The pattern is free from the Moda Bakeshop. It's called "Portrait Gallery."

It was a fun pattern to work on, and it went fast because it lends itself well to chain piecing. I hope you like my quilt.

Love the "Dave's Not Here" reference!!! That was my favorite movie "in the day"!!! Not any more, but we all grow up sometime, hunh??? LOL

Most of us. My friend? Not so much. He's harmless, however. Thank you all for your kind comments.

Funny how one suddenly remembers that one has that same design bookmarked. I really liked it when I came across it, and it is truly a georgous design. I love to see it with different fabrics - thanks! Makes me want to make one, too.
