Love the colors - I'll send you my address!

Janstar 03-22-2009 08:39 PM

Turned out just great Patrice! Very striking colors. I wasn't crazy about doing just one corn and beans block and you did all those. Wow, my hats off to you!

BlueChicken 03-22-2009 10:43 PM

LOL

My partner just asked why I was laughing... I love the "galloping horse" statement, I'm SO going to use that one!

And I love the quilt, I think it looks great, even at a trot!

key4unc 03-23-2009 02:56 AM

Why do you hate the way it turned out? I think it's lovely. It has a lot of movement without being dizzying (is that a word--LOL)?

Skeat 03-23-2009 02:59 AM

I like it too!:)Good play w/patterns-you did good! Skeat

patricej 03-23-2009 03:02 AM

i don't hate it at all. i don't even mind all the spots where things don't line up and connect precisely. the wild fabrics hide all that unless you're up close enough to be pressing or quilting it.

however, since the fabrics i used for January wouldn't coordinate with February and March; the fabrics from February don't coordinate with January and March; and the fabrics from March don't coordinate with January and February, in order to use all six blocks in one quilt, i'd have to go back and make each one again using fabrics that do coordinate.

that will probably not happen until at least 2010 - if at all. my "wanna do it" list is already waaaaaaaaay too long.

Bevanger 03-23-2009 09:09 AM

great quilt. i love it!

Ninnie 03-23-2009 09:50 AM

love the quilt, and everything looks better when sitting on a horse!

Mamagus 03-23-2009 10:23 AM

It is a very striking quilt. I love how the different blocks play with each other.

And anything red white and black is more than OK in my books!

Diane007 11-03-2012 05:04 PM

Awesome marriage of two blocks. It is fantastic.
peace

Bug Lady 12-23-2016 05:41 AM

Are you kidding me? I love it with the simple color and movement, it's great! Thanks for sharing and I don't think you need to be on a galloping horse to love it.
Merry Christmas, Karen

soozieQ 12-23-2016 05:50 AM

Super quilt, I like the definition the black makes

nativetexan 12-23-2016 06:33 AM

Very well done.

Trapunta 12-24-2016 01:54 PM

What a wonderful quilt! You did a great job.

Ada Shiela 12-26-2016 02:50 PM

Patrice, did the office party make you drunk when you put that fence up? I had to squint to get a clearer picture of the pattern but that would have made me dizzy putting all the stripes together; I think stars in the centre could have been appropriate for a US quilt too.

once it was done it made me a bit dizzy, too. lol

Really an intriguing pattern. I like it but it might drive me to distraction. This time of year that is a pretty short trip. I am anxious to get to piecing again and start a new quilting year.

joyful1 12-26-2016 05:59 PM

It sure is pretty

Jordan 12-30-2016 04:14 PM

Love it! Your fabric choices are great.

Snooze2978 12-14-2018 05:33 AM

I think it came out great. It has movement and you only used 3 color groups........red, white and black. The layout is outstanding. Good work!!!!

QuiltnNan 12-14-2018 06:35 AM

wow, Patrice, great pattern! ... deserves the honor of quilt of the week this week on the Home page

sue.ross.8782 12-14-2018 07:12 AM

It has the quality of an abstract modern art. How often do you mount a horse and gallop by your quilts? I hadn't heard of this technique before.:p

i have a friend with a Harley.
works even better. lol

LindaMRB 12-14-2018 02:12 PM

A challenge is a good thing and this one is a mind boggler. The pattern is more apparent if you squint. I like it!!

knitnnan 12-15-2018 04:23 AM

Wow! I love this one! It's great to see how combining blocks make unique patterns.

Congratulations!

A1penny 12-16-2018 04:41 AM

I can't imagine piecing that quilt! It would have made me crazy. It is such an interesting quilt to look at, I can't imagine how you kept everything straight in your mind doing it. Love your funny comments!
