Really nice quilts. I would be interested to know the construction method on the third one also. Love it.

Krystyna 08-22-2011 06:09 AM

Wonderful. I love the third one best. It reminds me of those wonderful paper weights with melted glass nuggets in them.

cyniree 08-22-2011 06:46 AM

wow, very nice

wendiq 08-22-2011 07:34 AM

Love your patterns and choice of fabrics.......can you give us any info as to what patterns you used?

hannahsmom 08-22-2011 07:53 AM

Ok sooty it took me so long to reply...

The second one is a snail trail take a detour. I used wee woodland and Bella solid jelly rolls. It was an all nighter class.

The third one is called spider web (I think) and I used 3 Hello Betty honey buns. It called for jelly rolls and you use 3 strips but I used a honey bun with 5 stripes. So it would be about the same size. I put them into strip sets and then used a 60 degrees angled ruler and cut them out and then connected the 3 wedges so its a half hexagon then sewed rows and had to work on two rows at a time so other half of hexagon would line up. It was fun just very tedious with sewing all the strips.

Thanks for all the nice comments.. let me know if there are any other questions....

Thanks for the info. Now this shows you how different quilts can look. Silly me I know the spiderweb pattern but always as a scrappy quilt so I didn't even recognize it! I love the way you did it!

wenot 08-22-2011 02:21 PM

Nanjun 08-22-2011 02:39 PM

I like #2. What is the name of that pattern?

Essjay 08-22-2011 02:51 PM

Did "Snails Tail takes a detour" come out of a book, or is it a pattern that one can purchase.
thanks.
Sheila

purplepamela 08-22-2011 05:29 PM

They are all very nice, but i really like the 3rd one. Pattern or strip cut?

Essjay 08-22-2011 05:34 PM

Just to let you know I found the Snail Trail pattern in a book (which amazingly, I have) called Scrap-Basket Surprises by Kim Brackett.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

lauriequilts 08-22-2011 08:43 PM

I like them all, but #3 really caught my eye. Great job!

Snail trail takes a detour. It was from all all nighter class the teacher tweaked the pattern somehow

sidmona 08-23-2011 04:43 PM

Very pretty quilts - I especially like the second one.

Sheila

The lady who put together the all nighter is the one who tweaked the snail trail pattern and named it snail trail takes a detour. I don't think its in a book. Sorry!

Beffy_Boo 08-23-2011 11:58 PM

So very pretty! Love the middle one.

QweenBee 08-24-2011 12:11 AM

It was a honey bun.. so I think they were 1.5 inch strips.
